Sign-in code problems

When you sign in, AviNat sends a 6-digit code to confirm your phone number. It sends the code by WhatsApp first, and you can ask for it by Telegram or SMS instead. If the code doesn't arrive or isn't accepted, the steps below usually help.

Try this

  1. Check the number. On the code screen, tap Wrong number? if the number is not right. Your number stays filled in so you can fix it. Make sure the country and calling code are correct (for Ethiopia, +251).
  2. Look in the right app. The code screen says how the code was sent, for example "Code sent by WhatsApp". If the first way didn't work, AviNat may send it another way and show "Sent by Telegram" or "Sent by SMS".
  3. Try another way. Under the code, tap Telegram or SMS to get the code that way. WhatsApp and Telegram only work if you use them with this same phone number.
  4. Wait for the timer before resending.Resend code shows a countdown ("Resend in …"). When it ends, tap it to get a new code.
  5. Use the newest code. Each new code replaces the last one. The screen shows how long a code lasts ("Code expires in …"). If it says "This code can no longer be used. Send a new one.", tap Send new code.
  6. If it says "That code didn't match. Try again.", check the digits and type them again, or paste the code.
  7. If it says "Too many tries" or "Try again in …", wait until the time shown has passed, then try again. Requesting more codes during the wait won't help.
  8. For SMS: check you have signal, that your SIM can receive messages, and that the inbox isn't full. SMS can sometimes be slow, so WhatsApp or Telegram may be quicker.
  9. Check your connection. AviNat needs internet to send and check the code.

Still not working?

Write to [email protected], or if you can sign in on another device, reply in your report thread (You > Help > My reports). Tell us:

  • your country
  • which ways you tried (WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS)
  • what the screen said

Never include the code itself. A person from our team will follow up.

Good to know

  • Never share your code with anyone, including someone who says they work for AviNat. AviNat will never ask you for it.
  • If your number is new to AviNat, after the code you only need to enter your name.
  • WhatsApp codes may not be available in every country. If WhatsApp doesn't work, use Telegram or SMS.
