How long AviNat keeps your information
AviNat keeps information on its servers only as long as it needs it. Your chats stay on your phone; this is about the copies AviNat keeps to deliver messages and run the service.
How long things are kept
- Messages waiting for a phone: encrypted, and deleted from AviNat's servers as soon as every phone in the chat has received and saved them. If a phone never collects them, they are deleted after 30 days. A phone that was off or offline for longer than 30 days shows "Message not available on this device" for what it missed.
- Photos, videos, voice messages and files in chats: encrypted, and deleted 30 days after they are sent. After that, a file you never downloaded shows "Media expired". Ask the sender to send it again.
- Call records (who called whom, when and for how long): deleted 30 days after the call. This includes translated calls.
- Reports to AviNat support: deleted 1 year after the report is closed. Screenshots you attach are deleted after 90 days.
- Server logs: deleted after 14 days.
- Server backups: encrypted, and deleted after 35 days.
If you delete your account
Your account info, profile, contacts, profile posts and support reports are erased within 24 hours. People you talked to keep the messages you sent them and see you as "Deleted account". See delete-account for the steps.
Good to know
- Your chat history lives only on your phone. Things you already saved on your phone stay there until you delete them or remove AviNat. To keep your history when you change phones, turn on Chat backup (see backup-restore): AviNat's servers do not keep old messages for a new phone.
- AviNat Pro minutes used are kept as a billing record for 13 months; after that only monthly totals without any names are kept. Apple handles payments, so AviNat never has your card details.
- The full details are in the Privacy Policy (You > Help > Privacy Policy).
