Calls are not ringing
If people say they called you but your iPhone didn't ring, or you only see a missed call later, the cause is usually notifications, Focus mode or your connection. The steps below check each one.
Try this
- Allow notifications for AviNat. Open the iPhone Settings app, tap Notifications, then AviNat, and turn on Allow Notifications. Calls and missed-call alerts need this.
- Check Focus and Do Not Disturb. Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen. If a Focus such as Do Not Disturb or Sleep is on, turn it off or allow AviNat in that Focus (iPhone Settings > Focus).
- Let calls ring through Focus. In AviNat, tap You, then Notifications. If you see Time Sensitive calls, follow its note: allow Time Sensitive Notifications for AviNat in iPhone Settings > Notifications > AviNat.
- Check the Ring/Silent switch and volume. If your iPhone is on silent, calls vibrate but don't ring. Turn up the ringer volume in iPhone Settings > Sounds & Haptics.
- Check your connection. AviNat calls use the internet. Weak mobile data or Wi-Fi can stop a call from reaching you. Try another network and ask the person to call again.
- Check that you haven't blocked them. Blocked people can't call you. Go to You > Privacy > Blocked to see your list.
- Open AviNat once. After an update or a restart, open AviNat so this iPhone is ready to receive calls.
- Update and restart. Install the latest AviNat from the App Store, then restart your iPhone.
Still not working?
Reply in your report thread (You > Help > My reports) and tell us:
- the date and time of a call that didn't ring
- whether your iPhone was locked, AviNat was open, or a Focus was on
- whether you got a missed-call alert afterwards
A person from our team will follow up. You can also write to [email protected].
Good to know
- To start a call, open a chat and tap the phone button for voice or the camera button for video.
- If you are signed in on more than one device, check the other device too. You can see where you are signed in under You > Devices.
- Translated calls are a separate kind of call and may not ring like normal calls. If a translated call doesn't reach someone, ask them to open AviNat and try again.
- If a call keeps saying it is connecting, check your connection on both phones and try again.
